The British Gloomy Season

Beth Gibbons was the lead singer for British trip hop band Portishead. In Out of Season, she is joined by former Talk Talk bassist Rustin Man for a trip into a world with less beat then in their former groups, but with just as much melodrama, sinister dark soundscapes and bittersweet melodies. Her voice is given center stage, and is cool and sweet, surprisingly reminicent of Dusty Springfield in a tragic mood.
