Born in Mishawaka, IN, where they make the Hummer, and after a long stint as John Mellencamp's violinist and fiddle player, you might expect something brighter and more fit for a show in a stadium. But this album is as intimate and as complex as they come, and as gentle and introspective as this melancholic soul can hope for.
